Our client, a growing IT company based in Nairobi CBD, is seeking a competent and experienced Accountant to oversee daily financial operations and ensure compliance with statutory and financial reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and experienced in managing accounting functions within a structured environment, preferably in the IT or technology industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Handle bank reconciliations and cash flow management.
- Ensure timely statutory deductions and remittances (PAYE, NSSF, SHIF, VAT, etc.).
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Support external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
- Monitor company expenses and advise management on cost control measures.
- Utilize accounting software to manage financial transactions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (Part II or Finalist) required; CPA-K is an added advantage.
- 3–5 years’ accounting experience, preferably in an IT/technology company.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
