Job Description

Our client, a growing IT company based in Nairobi CBD, is seeking a competent and experienced Accountant to oversee daily financial operations and ensure compliance with statutory and financial reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and experienced in managing accounting functions within a structured environment, preferably in the IT or technology industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Handle bank reconciliations and cash flow management.
  • Ensure timely statutory deductions and remittances (PAYE, NSSF, SHIF, VAT, etc.).
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Support external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
  • Monitor company expenses and advise management on cost control measures.
  • Utilize accounting software to manage financial transactions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Part II or Finalist) required; CPA-K is an added advantage.
  • 3–5 years’ accounting experience, preferably in an IT/technology company.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
