Job Description

Our client is seeking to recruit a skilled and reliable Baker to support the operations of an upcoming bakery kiosk and shop in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of bakery products while ensuring high standards of product quality, consistency, hygiene, and food safety.

The ideal candidate should be passionate about baking and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake bread, pastries, cakes, and other bakery products according to standard recipes.
  • Ensure product quality, consistency, and freshness of all baked goods.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately to maintain recipe standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the baking area in line with food safety regulations.
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure quality output.
  • Assist in inventory control of baking ingredients and supplies.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients and finished products.
  • Work closely with shop staff to ensure timely availability of baked products for customers.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate or training in Baking / Pastry / Food Production is an added advantage.
  • 1–2 years’ experience working in a bakery or food production environment.
  • Knowledge of bread, pastries, and general bakery production.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work early shifts and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational and teamwork skills.
