Our client, a busy restaurant located in Nairobi CBD, is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to manage daily transactions and ensure smooth front-desk operations.
The ideal candidate should be presentable, detail-oriented, and experienced in handling POS systems within a restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive customer payments via cash, mobile money, and card transactions
- Operate the POS system accurately and efficiently
- Issue receipts and maintain accurate transaction records
- Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts
- Handle customer inquiries professionally
- Coordinate with service and kitchen teams to ensure accurate billing
- Report discrepancies or system issues to management
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashier station
Minimum Requirements
- KCSE Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Prior experience as a cashier in a restaurant or retail setup
- Conversant with POS systems
- Strong numerical and reconciliation skills
- Honest, trustworthy, and customer-oriented
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
