Our client, a growing organisation in the manufacturing environment, is seeking a competent, detail-oriented, and flexible Inventory Accountant Assistant to support its Finance and Stores functions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory and financial records, monitoring stock movements, supporting reconciliations, and ensuring inventory transactions are correctly captured in SAP.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory and accounting records.
- Monitor stock receipts, issues, transfers, and other stock movements.
- Reconcile physical stock against system records and investigate variances.
- Assist with stock counts, inventory reconciliations, and reporting.
- Verify inventory documentation and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
- Support preparation of inventory-related financial reports.
- Assist with month-end stock and accounting reconciliations.
- Ensure inventory transactions are accurately captured in SAP.
- Work closely with Stores, Procurement, Production, and Finance teams.
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain proper documentation for inventory and accounting transactions.
- Perform other accounting and inventory-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 5 years' relevant working experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA qualification or equivalent accounting qualification is an added advantage.
- Practical experience working with SAP is required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Good understanding of inventory accounting, stock control, and reconciliation.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve inventory variances.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
